Since the holiday break, everone here at P.S. 57 has been working real hard and the programs are back in full swing. Our last topic in Starfish (our after school program) was on health and nutrition. For our main community activity, the students made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the local food pantry. I was so impressed with how well everything went and how much fun the kids had. I was pleasantly surprised to realize many students grasped the purpose of the project. One of my fifth graders told me “God is watching us and knows we are doing a good thing”.
