Last week was one of the best experiences I’ve had at City Year New York. During our “100 Hours of Power”, each corps member was involved in various community service projects around the clock. Monday I helped fix up a garden at a Bronx High School. Tuesday I folded and sorted clothes at a clothing bank. The most empowering service I did however was kids programming on Wednesday and Thursday which I helped plan. Playing with the children, making masks and watching Jumanji at the Ronald McDonald House was the most fulfilling part of my great experience. I wish I could do it all over again!
