Bank of America, a City Year national leadership sponsor launched its new Olympic campaign, America’s Cheer, inviting fans to upload video messages for the U.S. team headed to the Beijing Games in August. Some of our friends from Bank of America came to PS 133 in Harlem to record cheers that were put together by students.
One of their Olympic Hometown Hopefuls Howard Bach, a badminton player, judged the cheers and spoke to the students about his experience growing up in San Francisco and his path to becoming an Oylmpian. City Year New York serves at PS 133 and one of our corps members, Ashley Boykin was MC for the event. At the end of the event Maurice Coleman, Bank of America’s Community Development Marketing Manager surprised the faculty and staff by announcing that Bank of America was donating $5,000 to PS 133. Thanks to Bank of America for their continued support of City Year and City Year New York!
