IS 126’s Students Got Talent!

On Thursday, March 31, the City Year team at IS 126 in Long Island City hosted what Principal Anguiera said was “the school’s first talent show in three years.” Our team held auditions at the school one month before the Opening Night of the show.  Out of the 110 students that auditioned, 36 students made the cut and 20 acts were featured.

“This is a great turn out!  There are so many turn parents and students here to support their kids and peers,” said Mrs. Tsiforas, the Assistant Principal at IS 126 and the City Year liaison.

The goal of this event was to engage the parents of the students that attend IS 126, and to encourage the student performers to show off, be proud, and build their self-confidence.

Below you can check out some photos from the night.
