(Mostly) Wordless Wednesday: Barclays Capital Service Days!

Our summer service days have kicked off with the support of our friends at Barclays Capital. The volunteers wore bright blue shirts that encouraged people to “Take Part.” We’re glad that we were given the opportunity to take part along with them and beautify many areas in the South Bronx. Thank you to our community partners at The Point, Police Athletic League, Wildcat Academy, and MS 424. Here are our favorite photos from the three service days and to see the rest just click on the day: day 1, day 2, or day 3!

On July 19, over 100 Barclays Capital volunteers served at Wildcat Academy in the South Bronx. The volunteers were able to work with students on their resumes, paint inspiring murals, and build bookshelves.

On the first day of August, over 160 Barclays Capital volunteers completed various service projects at City Year New York's community partner, The Point. Projects included running a kids carnival, constructing compost bins, landscaping, flower planting, and mural paintings in and around The Point.

Nearly 140 Barclays Capital volunteers provided an afternoon of service at MS 424 on August 2nd. Volunteers constructed a stage set in preparation for the Police Athletic League summer program's ‘Roman themed’ production. They also assisted the same program by creating props and costumes for the production. One of the biggest projects they participated is in was painting a huge wall mural outside the school.
