Five Things Friday

1. Welcome to City Year: We started off the week strong by welcoming our 9th City Year New York corps at the Scholastic Auditorium in SoHo. Basic Training Academy has just begun and we’re already impressed by the talents and skills of this year’s corps. Take a look at the infograph below to learn more about our corps.

2. Thank You: We owe our partners and friends at PS 50 in Harlem and the Children’s Aid Society a huge thank you for sharing their space with us this week. We’ve really enjoyed being in the Harlem community and we look forward to working together this year!

3. Save the Date: Mark your calendar on October 7th  for our Opening Day ceremony! Family and friends of our corps members are invited to celebrate the work our corps will have just begun in schools. For more information and to RSVP click here.

4. Alumni Update: Take a look at the new City Year Alumni website! You can post and search for jobs in the career center, create a profile to stay connected to your friends from City Year, and also find out about City Year events in your area. If you were a member of the old website, make sure to check your e-mail for information on how to register for the new website. You can also register on the site here!

5. Cheers to a Powerful Year of Service:  To close out a powerful first week, we’ve put together a welcome video for our corps members. To our corps, thank you for saying yes to giving a year. We can’t wait to see you change the world!
