Hurricane Irene is Heading Our Way

We are beginning to prepare for Hurricane Irene that is projected to hit the Greater New York area early Saturday. Mayor Bloomberg has ordered the MTA to shut down tomorrow at noon and certain areas of the city are already starting to evacuate. Use this map to find out the status of your neighborhood.

To stay safe during the storm, FEMA suggests creating an emergency disaster kit that includes water, non-perishable food, a first aid kit, and a flashlight. The entire list is here.

Gallons of water are quickly disappearing from grocery store shelves. Make sure to stock up before it’s all gone and get your board games out as you brace for the storm.

Please be advised that our office will be closed this weekend and the corps will not be in service on Monday.
