Five Things Friday

1.  Since 2004, City Year New York has spent every Columbus Day, volunteering with our partners at Bernstein, Litowitz, Berger & Grossmann LLP (BLB&G), and this year was no different. BLB&G takes pride in working with us to find communities and community partners who have a great need, and will benefit greatly from the services and resources that they can provide. This year more than 85 BLB&G employees joined us at the Roy Wilkins Community Center and Community Garden, helping to complete 3 signature projects.

These projects included the rigorous task of fully repainting the first level of the community center, building 12 bookshelves and a complete reformation of the entrance to the 4 acre community garden, in the heart of Jamaica, Queens. BLBG had a mission on this day and it was fully executed in a timely matter – they can proudly say “we came, we saw, we conquered.”

It was definitely a pleasure to work alongside such motivated individuals. Their hard work and desire to give back not only speaks to their character but also to the values of the firm. To see photos from this event please CLICK HERE.
