City Year’s Top Feeder Schools

Taking a look at the top “feeder” schools that supply City Year with talented corps members, to work in some of the country’s most challenging schools, we are proud to announce that Cornell University students rank among the highest serving in this year’s corps. City Year’s partnership with Cornell University has been an exemplary and record breaking one, bringing together multiple offices on campus and champions at all levels, from student leaders to University administration.

“Our students are committed to service and to making a difference in the world, and City Year offers graduates the opportunity to put this commitment into action to make a meaningful impact on the communities where they work.” -Rebecca Sparrow, Executive Director, Cornell Career Services

Cornell ranks first among private and Ivy League schools and is fifth overall among City Year’s feeder schools. This past year, we received 85 applications from Cornell students and hired 20 of those applicants into full time positions across the country, including seven serving right here in NYC.

“I am inspired by the generation of people graduating from my alma mater who want to serve.” –Itai Dinour, Executive Director, City Year New York and Cornell class of 2001

“I serve, in part to provide the same support that was given to me to students who may otherwise lack it.” -Frank Wilburn, Jr., Team Leader, City Year New York and Cornell class of 2010
