This morning, the City Year New York Civic Engagement Team and TelX marked the holiday giving season by hosting an amazing service day in Astoria, Queens. For the second year, TelX brought eager volunteers and great giving spirits to a service partner in New York City. Today’s service took place at A.R.R.O.W Field House, part of the City of New York Parks and Recreation, where over 75 students attend daily for enrichment activities.
TelX arrived with the power of 76 volunteers ready to provide change and transformation. The volunteers constructed 4 planter boxes, 1 planter box bench and painted the interior of the facility, along with 3 panel murals. The most exciting part was that all of the projects were completed and ready for the students to enjoy in today’s after school program. It was a spectacular day and we are grateful for our great partnership with Parks and Recreation, the ARROW Field House and the amazing volunteers from TelX.
