This past Friday, more than 30 City Year corps members traveled to the American Express offices to meet with some of their employees to practice interviewing skills. The training session started with words of thanks to the American Express volunteers and encouragement to the City Year corps members by Meredith Hahn, Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility. “American Express is proud to support organizations that make a difference, and the corps members in this room today make a difference every day in schools,” she said.

After a quick icebreaker, corps members then paired off with American Express volunteers, who had interview questions ready for them. They practiced and had the chance to receive valuable feedback.

Because corps members are so dedicated to their students during the week, they especially value time set aside for them to work on their own professional development. American Express, our Mentoring Sponsor, makes sure that corps members continue to get opportunities like this throughout the year.

Thank you, American Express, for your time and dedication!
