On Wednesday, February 19th, the City Year New York Alumni Board Held their Annual 18-Minute Networking Event. Special thanks to our partners at Credit Suisse for graciously hosting the event again.
18 Minute Networking creates a dialogue about life after City Year and gives corps members the opportunity to meet and network with professionals in fields they hope to enter. The event strives to provide corps members with an honest perspective of what to expect when entering various professional and academic fields.
The event started with an opening program led by Sean McDevitt, Senior Director of City Year Alumni & Career Services. Eric Williams, City Year alumnus and current Vice President of the Credit Suisse Americas Foundation, described his path from being a City Year Corps Member to his role at Credit Suisse.
After the program, the first of three networking rotations began. Two or three professionals specializing in related fields anchored a table and facilitated a small group discussion with corps members. They focused on sharing their paths to their current work in 18 minute rotations. There were over 270 corps members, 60 facilitators and a lot of positive feedback! Thank you to all who participated. We hope to see you again next year!
